Fa 200 anys que néixer Edgar Allan Poe (19 de gener de 1809 - 7 d’octubre de 1849). Podríem dir que és el pare dels contes de terror. Va ser precursor dels relats de literatura en ciència ficció i renovador de la novel·la gòtica
La biblioteca de Miramarges celebra amb una petita exposició l’aniversari del naixament de l’escriptor. Us convidem a visitar la mostra i a conèixer l’obra de Poe.

International activities for the second semester

Next semester, new international and exchange students will visit the UVic to spend several months with us. To welcome them, the International Relations Office has organized different activities in the frame of the Welcome Week, which will take place from Monday 9th to Friday 13th February.
In case you would like to join in, just drop in or send an e-mail to the International Relations Office. You will find a detailed schedule of the Welcome Week and of the semester activities in the following attached documents.
We invite you all to participate in any of the activities: International Farewell & Welcome Party, Welcome Dinner, trips, concerts…

Some international exchange students at the UVic are already leaving and we would like to organize a last event before the semester finishes, a farewell from the UVic before they come back home.
Exchange students visiting the UVic the second semester will join us next Monday, 9th February, so we think the second week of February is a good period to hold an International Farewell & Welcome Party, where all students at the UVic can meet all new incoming students and spend a good time with old and new local and international friends.
Right now you may have exams or assignments, so we propose either Wednesday 11th or Thursday 12th February to hold the meeting.
Please, if you are a mentor o a student interested in joining the event, let us know your availability as soon as possible so that we can start organizing a nice evening with all of you.
We would appreciate an e-mail to the International Relations Office (anna.casadevall@uvic.cat) telling us your option before Friday 30th January.
